Unfiltered & Unapologetic: Sanando el dinero, la identidad y el sistema nervioso — incluso las partes que la cultura nos enseñó a ignorar.
Unfiltered & Unapologetic blends money, nervous system regulation, faith, and cultural healing — especially for first-gen and children of immigrants who learned survival before stability.
Hosted by Caitlin Gil-Soto (MSF candidate), this is where we rewrite narratives around money, rest, boundaries, relationships, and self-worth with emotional depth, cultural context, and practical tools.
You’ll hear conversations on:
• Faith and identity
• Nervous system patterns and emotional trauma
• Money guilt, abundance, and financial healing
• Boundaries without fear
• Rest and softness as generational repair
• What it means to break cycles with compassion, not aggression

24. The Calm Feels Suspicious — Healing That
There’s a moment in healing nobody talks about — when life finally gets calm and your brain whispers, “Why does this feel weird?” You’re not sad, not overwhelmed, not in chaos… but peace feels suspicious. For many of us raised in loud Dominican homes, peace wasn’t the default — it was the reward after survival. This episode explores learning to trust peace, not test it.
Segment 1 — Peace Feels Suspicious When You Grew Up in Noise
Our bodies remember chaos as safety. Silence feels wrong only because movement once meant connection. Stillness isn’t emptiness — it’s your body detoxing from survival mode.
Prompt: When life slows down, what habits pull you back into movement — and what are they protecting you from?
Affirmation: My body is learning that calm is not danger. Stillness is safety.
Segment 2 — Neutral Seasons Are Sacred
We chase highs and fix lows, but healing lives in the middle. Neutrality isn’t boredom — it’s regulation. Maturity is peace that doesn’t need proving.
Prompt: What parts of you equate peace with “nothing happening”?
Affirmation: I honor the seasons where nothing feels extreme. Peace deepens my roots.
Segment 3 — Your Nervous System Needs Time to Believe You’re Safe
Healing is learning to hold calm. Generations lived in vigilance; we’re the ones relearning ease. Breathe deeper. Let calm be productive.
Prompt: What version of safety are you adjusting to — rest, receiving, or trust?
Affirmation: I am building capacity for peace that lasts.
Segment 4 — When Peace Feels Like Distance, Not Presence
Sometimes peace feels quiet, not miraculous. God isn’t gone — He’s grounding you. Calm is not distance; it’s devotion.
Prompt: When God feels quiet, what fear rises in you?
Affirmation: My peace is proof of God’s presence. Even in stillness, He speaks.
Segment 5 — Letting Good Things Stay
When peace finally feels like it belongs, part of you still waits for loss. Grace feels strange when you’re used to earning everything. But this stability isn’t a setup — it’s safety.
Prompt: What calm part of your life can you trust to stay?
Affirmation: I no longer chase peace — I live in it.
Segment 6 — Integration + The Ancestral Blessing
Every time you rest without guilt, you heal your lineage. Every time you let love be easy, you teach your bloodline that joy doesn’t have to hurt. You are your grandmother’s answered prayer — proof that peace can live in a Dominican home without struggle or apology.
Prompt: How can you make peace feel natural in your body?
Affirmation: Peace is my inheritance. Stillness is my strength.
Closing Prayer
God, thank You for teaching me that calm isn’t the absence of life — it’s the evidence of healing. Thank You for the quiet that used to feel foreign but now feels like home. I surrender the parts of me that still wait for chaos and open my hands to receive peace that stays. May my body learn the rhythm of safety, my heart soften before it closes, and my home be filled with calm that multiplies. Amen.
