Unfiltered & Unapologetic: Sanando el dinero, la identidad y el sistema nervioso — incluso las partes que la cultura nos enseñó a ignorar.
Unfiltered & Unapologetic blends money, nervous system regulation, faith, and cultural healing — especially for first-gen and children of immigrants who learned survival before stability.
Hosted by Caitlin Gil-Soto (MSF candidate), this is where we rewrite narratives around money, rest, boundaries, relationships, and self-worth with emotional depth, cultural context, and practical tools.
You’ll hear conversations on:
• Faith and identity
• Nervous system patterns and emotional trauma
• Money guilt, abundance, and financial healing
• Boundaries without fear
• Rest and softness as generational repair
• What it means to break cycles with compassion, not aggression

23. Wintering for the Caribbean Soul: When the Body Misses the Sun & God Whispers Rest
There’s a silence that arrives with winter — a stillness that feels unfamiliar when you come from heat, movement, música, and people.
This episode explores what happens when Caribbean bodies and hearts enter colder seasons — physically, emotionally, and spiritually — and how to learn winter without losing the sun we carry within us.
This is not about pushing through.
It’s about honoring biology, memory, and God.
It’s about creating warmth instead of forcing energy —
and remembering you are still tropical soil even when the trees look bare.
Intro
Honoring seasonal shifts, Caribbean nervous systems, rest, faith, and learning winter without losing your warmth.
Segment 1 — Sun-Wired Bodies
Why warm-climate nervous systems react to winter + honoring biology & memory.
Journal Prompt:
Where does your body tense when the season shifts?
Affirmation:
I honor the parts of me that tense with change — and I soften there.
Segment 2 — Emotional Wintering
Nostalgia, quiet emotions surfacing, slowing without shame.
Journal Prompt:
When life slows down, what rises — and what does it need from you?
Affirmation:
I don’t fear slowing down. I honor what rises when life gets quiet.
Segment 3 — Spirit & Identity Shift
Stillness, faith, pruning, womb-season energy, relearning safety in quiet.
Journal Prompt:
What part of you still fears rest, and what truth replaces that fear?
Affirmation:
I am safe to slow down. God meets me in the quiet, and I grow even when I can’t see it yet.
Segment 4 — Seasonal Depression vs Seasonal Reflection
Distinguishing true depression from spiritual/emotional slowing + grounding practices.
Journal Prompt:
When you feel “low” in winter, are you asking for help or for slowness?
Affirmation:
I don’t fear the quiet seasons — I meet myself and God there.
Segment 5 — Nourishment & Warm Rituals
Cultural food, sunlight, gentle movement, connection, prayer, warmth routines.
Journal Prompt:
What ritual brings you warmth — emotionally, spiritually, or physically?
Affirmation:
I treat my body like a home, not a project. I give myself warmth, not war.
Segment 6 — Becoming Winter-Fluent
Adapting without abandoning yourself, carrying island energy into winter.
Journal Prompt:
Where do you confuse stillness with failure — and what truth replaces it?
Affirmation:
I don’t shrink for winter — I expand inward. My warmth lives in me.
Closing
Learning winter, not losing your fire.
Warmth is identity, not season.
God meets you in stillness.
Homework:
Write your winter plan (light, warmth, movement, connection, spiritual ritual).
